Neuro SIG on Kidney Diseases

In current workplace, the workgroup has SIG every week whereby each therapist takes turn to present on something they have just learnt or something new or anything that may help us in managing the patients better.

Tomorrow will be a presentation. In the previous SIG, NPH was presented. It was a sharing session as I went for the symposium. Now, my presentation will be on kidneys and their common diseases. I did this topic as I am new to the renal ward (2 months). As I read up on some common conditions, I asked myself “Why not share with the rest? It can serve as revision for them.”. Finally, I am done with the slides and have already uploaded the presentation slides to Slideshare.com.

Basically, I am touching on:

  • Kidney and Functions
  • Kidney Failure or End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD)
  • Renal Replacement Therapy (Hemodialysis, Peritoneal Dialysis, Transplantation)
  • Common Kidney Diseases
  • In the Wards (It’s about what things to look out for before seeing the patient)
