As currently working in a geriatric ward in an acte hospital, I have a fair share of experiences managing individuals with dementia, especially those with behavioural issues. Which must say that it is not easy to handle them. Some are agitated while others aggressive. Sometimes, the physiotherapist and me are out of wits on the ways to handle them, especially if they could come for active rehab, whereby there are other patients in the day room.
I have found this pretty good presentation slides in the internet by a professsor in the University of Washington, that I would like to share with healthcare professionals and caregivers. She gave useful and practical tips that can be implemented in the hospital and at home.
As every individual is different, it will be good to try out those tips and see whether they work!
