This is one of the behavioural issues that may come with dementia. This is exactly what happens to my granduncle who was recently diagnosed with dementia. He roamed around naked in his neighbourhood in his village at midnight, knocking on people’s doors.
And due to the challenging nature of these baheviours, caregivers may find it taxing to curb those behaviours. My grandaunt was at wits end and was seen crying, not knowing what to do when she told my grandmother about it. Hence, it will be good if she can be given help and advice on the issues she is facing from the social services in her town in Malaysia. As a future healthcare professional, I can give a advice or two when I meet her soon.
These websites are useful in gaining some ideas on how caregivers can manage difficult behaviours associated with individuals with dementia.
